Writing Makes Sense of Life

"Sometimes the only way to make sense of something is to write it down." -  William Darcy, The Lizzie Bennet Diaries

I've been gone for a while, and I admit that it is due to my crazing over The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. I finished the webseries last month, but I just recently finished browsing over their twitter accounts and other sites that follow the story. Personally, I think the format of the show was great. I, for one, would never have concocted such an idea.

But I love how it sort of shadows what I am doing with my stories. I am using my blog to give you a preview of the highlights that I didn't put on my original work. I hope this gets my readers to stay interested in my works.

And another very excellent thing I love about this webseries are its quotable quotes. Some of it are very enlightening — or as Darcy would say, illuminating. The one that got to me so much is the one above, which was a tweet by Darcy. I think it was perfect.

I love to write. Yes, talking is fine too, but writing gets you thinking. It allows you to ponder about things and happenings. Like when Darcy wrote the letter. I'm assuming and incorporating that tweet to the time when he wrote the letter to Lizzie. It is old-fashion and very lame but I wouldn't have done it any other way.

Okay, so maybe they just did that with the mere fact that Mr. Darcy did that from Pride and Prejudice. And from that novel, it was the only appropriate thing to do. But I see myself doing the same thing in the present.

Call me old-fashioned, but letters are amazing. If Darcy were to tell Lizzie the Wickham backstory through the phone or face to face then, he may miss out a detail or two. He could get so worked up with his own emotions that he tells the story differently. That's why I love letters. Because as you write it down, you get to savor and feel each emotion that travels your whole being.

Even if you feel pain or any other negative emotion, I think it's still perfect. Because when you tell the story by mouth, you would also feel the pain, but you can't savor it. And eventually, it will overwhelm you, You will act out in the worst possible way and that would be really really bad, but it's inevitable. It's a fact.

I needed to write about this tweet because it totally embodies who I am. It's just perfect and I had to put my feelings into words to make sense of everything about it that makes me smile.
