Folie á Deux (Origin)

So, for our OralComm class, we are required to write a spoken word poetry. I love poetry and I love speaking it, so I was quite excited to write a piece.

I initially intended to do an inspirational speech, but I decided not to when I actually knew how spoken poetry works. Our professor made us watch spoken poetry done by Phil Kay and Sarah Kaye. And I was so inspired to write my own. I have this guy best friend that I know would make the experience perfect.

So, right after watching the videos, we sat down and wrote what we could. It was one of my greatest work, in my opinion. Everything about it was...me. It was so me. It supports my principles and...it was just the best thing ever for me.

I'm glad my best friend was my best partner ever.

So, today....we performed it. I am so disappointed in us because we messed up when my friend jumped into a different stanza. It was still as effective, but we lost 2 effin stanzas. I was not mad at him, I was just sort of disappointed.

Nonetheless, I am proud of our work and I want to share it on my blog, hoping to inspire other people. The message is the one that I want everybody in this world to hear. I hope you like it.
