Friends and Acquaintances.

"There are friends who care, friends who dare, but some friends just stare."

That is a beautiful quote by yours truly. I love it in a sense that it's true. And the way that you will interpret the quote will be based on what kind of a friend you are.

There's a meme in the internet that shows how when you are a GOOD friend, you will help your drunken friend clean up and get to bed. But if you're the BEST friend, you will help him get up and do whatever the hell you want to do with him. You will make fun of him. Throw him over a flight of stairs. Anything! Just because.

If you are the BEST friend, you will interpret "friends who stare" as that kind of friend. They're the friends who will stare at you at times when you rant, but deep inside you know truly in your heart that if you are in dire need of legitimate help, they will be there for you.

As for the alternate meaning of that will be the simplest interpretation of it. "Friends who stare" in a sense that when you are in need of help, they will just stare at you. Not because he/she doesn't want to help but because he/she doesn't feel obligated to. People like those usually are not your friends. They're more like acquaintances.

I have a lot of those. Some user friendly and some who just don't realize that they only talk to me when they need my help. I'd choose those over the people who do it intentionally. But honestly, if I were to really choose if I wanted a BEST friend or a GOOD friend for no reason at all, I would choose the one that I actually care about more.

To me, friendships aren't about what other people can offer to you. They can be so kind to you, but you just don't care. While some can act as if they're your closest friend, but deep inside of you, you don't feel the same.

Friendships are more than just relationships. It's a partnership. Without actual partnership, friendships are nothing. It'd be like betting your whole life for nothing but a penny.
